This thesis covers the work done in our lab towards the synthesis of two unique natural products. The first project is the work towards Baumycin in an attempt to elucidate some structural information. We have worked on a model system and attempted some preliminary glycosylations of related compound daunomycin. The second project entails the work done thus far in the synthesis of the 2,3 sT antigen in order to use it as a probe for the cell surface protein GspB. The work done with GspB is an attempt to identify the active site of the protein.
