Abstract
As part of its efforts to assess the extent to which the institution’s mission is being accomplished, Providence Christian College requires its students during their final year of college to complete the Capstone. The college’s faculty, however, largely characterize the Capstone work they receive as being unsatisfactory. I set out to identify what central practices were required for the Capstone at Providence, as well as the informational and interpersonal resources available to enable these practices. I found that 10 central practices were required for coursework leading up to the Capstone, but many of these practices were not necessary during the Capstone experience. I further found that several resources were made available for students, but the extent to which these resources helped enable the required central practices varied.
