By Vanderbilt University. Princine Lewis hosts. Barb Cramer reports on the Navigation in a Virtual Environment study, which is investigating whether playing video games can improve map skills and navigation in the real world; researchers Brian Verdine and Georgene Troseth and study participants Tawny Spinelli and Michael Bailey speak. Lewis reports briefly about grants made for research projects at Vanderbilt under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (i.e., the economic stimulus package). She reports that Emily Pearce of the Vanderbilt News Service received a regional Emmy award for a VUcast segment on Taylor Stokes, Vanderbilt's first African American scholarship football player, and that the Freedom Forum, which includes Vanderbilt's First Amendment Center, received one for lifetime achievement. The Vanderbilt Photography Club and its Flickr "critique" page are featured.en
