Video of a class session. Lawson continues a discussion of the Iraq War, explaining that U.S. foreign policy serves American economic interests (especially in relation to oil); he mentions other examples of this as well and speaks of the many American invasions of other countries through history. He speculates on how citizen action could help end the Iraq War but emphasizes that it would be difficult and that there are few signs of such a movement. He talks about the significance language has in healthy social relations, and about the necessity of one-on-one communication. He shows and briefly discusses a segment of the film Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.--An Amazing Grace (not seen in the video). There are some sound problems in this video but for the most part Lawson can be understood. |
