Description: Includes descriptive metadata provided by producer in MP4 file: "Politics, Economics and Social Issues - Video - Panel discussion on activism and justice." By John Seigenthaler and Kerry Kennedy. Seigenthaler, journalist and founder of the First Amendment Center, moderates the discussion, which features a video appearance by Kerry Kennedy, human rights activist and author of Speak Truth to Power. Kennedy was scheduled to appear in person but could not because of inclement weather. The other participants are Marina Pisklakova, who worked on behalf of abused women in Russia, Stephen Bradberry, a community activist in New Orleans, and Lucas Benitez, a migrant farm labor organizer. The discussion was held Jan. 28, 2010 and was part of the 2010 Martin Luther King Commemorative Lecture Series. Vanderbilt Student Government president Wyatt Smith introduces Seigenthaler after the showing of a short video promoting the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights is seen. Another video is also shown as part of Kennedy's presentation.
